My younger cousin recently moved to st. louis, mo for school and she's been feeling a little lonesome. I decided it was time to cheer her up with some special homemade goodies to send in the mail. I made her a cute photo album that I decorated with mini bunting. I haven't sent them to her yet, but I hope she enjoys them!

The main reason I decided to learn how to sew was so I would be able to make my own clothes. Since I am a beginner I have been sticking to easy things to make as gifts before venturing into clothing. Well now I am taking my first step: I'm making a skirt for me! I am using this skirt pattern. Wish me luck, and I'll be posting the finished product up here.

At the end of August my boyfriend's sister is getting married in Hartsdale, New York. She has asked me to help her with several of the print design projects - and I volunteered to do some smaller 'crafty' projects as well. I will be doing some burlap banners for the reception, a tissue paper garland for the 'get-a-way' car, and little toothpick "thank yous" for the potted plant favors they are giving to each of their guests.
I will post some of the print design work I have done for the couple, but this next post is the gift I sewed them for their wedding. I found several inspiration photos by just searching the internet. I also found a free online oven mitt tutorial here. I customized the pattern to match my fabric stripes theme.
One of my co-workers is expecting a baby girl any day now, and I thought it would be nice to make a little something for the new addition. I scoured the internet for free baby shoe patterns and found this one from star dust shoes that was very easy - as well as cute!
